Barnum's Funundrum

We went with Jordan's' family to the circus again this year.  It was fun to see the new stuff but also we realized how cheesy most of it is.  It was great seeing the family though.  Here are a couple of pictures of the night.

Gotta love the man in the yellow hat!

Best Man

Jordan was able to be apart of one of his good friends weddings.  Mike and Kylie got married on September 18 up in Snowbird.  It was a beautiful wedding and everything turned out amazing.  We are so happy for them and wish them the best of luck!  I was so excited to see Jordan in a tux again because he can rock it out! Jordan's dad married them he did such a great job and gave them good advice like they will remember it.  I know on my wedding day I was so nervous I probably can't repeat anything expect the "I Do"

This last picture is with our good friends Russell and Hilarie.  Mike, Jordan and Russell where like the Three Musketeers back in the day.

Bear Lake

The best way to start a new semester of school is to head to Bear Lake the weekend before.  Jordan and I went up Friday afternoon after work to meet up with his parents and his sisters family.  It was so much fun to get away and relax before hitting the books again.  Jordan grew up pretty much on a boat.  His family had one for a few years and that was/is still Jordan passion.  His sister borrowed her in-laws boat so we got to enjoy the water all weekend long.  Here are a couple of pictures of them having fun in the water.  P.s. I couldn't do anything since I had my surgery only a month before so I enjoyed the weekend just sitting on the back of the boat watching them have fun.  Trust me I wanted to try a few things but I decided to be smart!
Jordan getting ready to try wake-boarding.  The water was freezing I don't know how they could just jump right in.
Ready to go!
Getting up.  YAY!!!
He had fun trying but did a lot better on ski's.  It was so much fun to watch him do the things he loves.  Dax our cute little nephew loved playing in the sand also in the water he is so much fun.
After boating for awhile we went to the beach for a little lunch and a nap.  I had an awesome tan line with my blue brace!

While we were up there we got to stay in a cabin just up the road from the lake.  We had a beautiful view and a awesome deck to sit on and enjoy it.
Inside the cabin was fun for me.  The bedrooms were upstairs in a loft area.  The only problem was there wasn't any stairs to climb up.  You had to climb a ladder to get up.  Everyone else did really good on it but I had to learn really fast how to climb up and down it with just one arm.
Sorry picture is sideways but you get the idea of what we had to do.
Later that night Jordan mom Michelle wanted to do some family pictures.  I wished his little sister could of been there to be in them.  They turned out so cute here are just a couple of them.

Thanks to Chris and Michelle for the fun and much needed get away!

Don't Say Cherry Hill

This post is so late but I wanted to share it since it was kinda funny.  The last weekend in July I wanted to surprise Jordan with a little over night camping trip.  I invited our friends Russell and Hilarie to come along.  Of course, Jordan found out and spoiled the surprise but he didn't say a word to Russell.  Saturday afternoon Jordan and I headed up to Cherry Hill to get our camp spot all set up before it got to dark.  Once we got up there it was just pouring rain so we waited in the car for it to lighten up.  About 30 minutes later it stopped so we started getting the tent up and once again it started to pour.  It only took up about 2 hours to have everything ready between the storms.  Hilarie and Russell came and met us up at the camp grounds about 9 and we ate dinner and started talking.  Boy time flies when your talking about the good times and sharing stories with each other.  We decided that we needed to head to bed that was around midnight and that's when the fun began!  This was the weekend with the worst thunder and lightening storms.  About 2 in the morning our tent was bright as day light.  I started to panic so I ran to the car to stay safe.  A hour later I headed back to the tent just in time for another storm to roll on in.  We finally decided to take the center wall down and just have it as one big room since we weren't going to get any sleep.  The things people do when they are so stupid tired and scared of the lightening we found that out really fast that night.  After all we ended up getting maybe 4 hours sleep total and we sure have a story to tell our children about that weekend.

Only a couple days later we thought it would be fun to go back and just do the water park.  Ha ha ha nope the weather turned bad once again so we had a BBQ and the boys made up their own game.  They had some much fun trying to catch anything with the extended arm.  I love this pictures so enjoy.

We have learned a very important lesson that maybe we weren't meant to go to Cherry Hills at all this summer!!  We will try again next year though don't you worry!!!!

4th and 24th

Jordan and I are so lucky to have both of our families close by.  On the 3rd we were at Lagoon with Jordan parents.  It was so much fun and not busy at all.  On the 24th his little sister Jessica and nephew came to town.  Jordan and Dax got in a great water fight.  The funny thing is that Jordan wasn't that wet compared to Dax.  Jordan had a little toy water gun and as you can see Dax got the hose.  They had so much fun and it was a blast watching them.

Later that night we had our own firework show.  Here is Jordan and I enjoying the party.  I can't believe that summer time is almost over but we enjoyed as much as we could.

Under the Knife

July was a very different month for Jordan and I.  For the past 6 years I have had problems with pain and numbness in my left arm.  I went back to my doctor and he thought the best thing to do would be going in and release the pressure from what he thought was a pinch nerve.  On July 14th Jordan and I got to LDS Hospital at 5:30 in the morning to prep me for surgery.  I was a very big cry baby since I have never been under anesthesia.  Thank goodness I had both Jordan and my mom by my side.  They rolled me back to the operating room around 7:30 and I was back out around 9 (I think).  Waking up was great there was a guy in recovering with me and his name was Austin.  Well me not know what was going on I was making fun of him being from Texas he was a great guy and played along with me.  Then a few minutes later I started crying for Jordan and my mom I needed them and he said he would go find them so I lost it even more thinking that they left me there.  A few minutes later they let me go to the other recovery room where Jordan and my mom could sit there with me.  I was able to keep ice down so they released us about 10 o'clock to go home.  I never felt sick to my stomach I was just really bored.  Jordan was talking to me on the way home and he told me that the doctor didn't even touch my nerve.  When they opened my arm up I had a muscle growing by my elbow and that was getting bigger so it was pitching my nerves.    They clipped the muscle and then stitched me back up.  They told him my arm would be totally numb for a couple of days then it would be tender.  I was in a sling for two weeks and now in a padded blue brace for 6 weeks.  Jordan got to know me really well during the "drug up time".  He learned that I can't handle heavy pain pills.  For a few nights we had some flying spiders and our new pet fish Charlie.  I hope I will never need to be on those again.  As of now my arm feels great I still have to be careful of what I do and lifting.  Below are a couple of pictures of what my arm looked like 1 week after surgery.  Good thing it was July I had my blue on every day thanks to the bruises

Our House

So as most of you know Jordan and I bought a house a few months back.  We bought the house that my Grandma and Grandpa Blackhurst lived in and also raised my father in.  We have made a few changes here and there but it's no where near being done.  But enjoy the things we have gotten finished....

Here is a couple of pictures of our kitchen before we got paint happy!!

Here is a after picture of our great work.  The cabinets
are now a black and the walls are a gray.  I love my
new kitchen it fits our style more.
Plus don't forget my sign "I kiss better then I cook"

Last but no least is our amazing living room!!! I love the bright color that we decided to paint our fireplace wall with.

Before:
After!! I love the bright blue.  Our hallway and also the other walls in the living room will be a light gray color.

Grandma Funeral

About 2 months ago Jordan and I made a fast trip up to Carey Idaho.  It was so hard to say good bye to my Grandma Bame.  She was such an amazing person that I will truly miss spending time with her.  At work it has been different walking pass her room without stopping in to say hi or give a hug.  I will treasure so many memories with her.  It was a great weekend because we were together as a family celebrating her life and also Mothers Day.  I wanted to share a couple of pictures from our trip.
This was my grandparents house up in Carey.  When they lived there it was a light green color so you couldn't miss it.  It was hard seeing it changed in so many ways.  I just remember all the HOT summers that we would spend up there I will never forget those days.  Above are also pictures of both my Grandpa and Uncle head stones.  I am so glad that they all could be laid to rest so close together.  I wished it wasn't a 5 hour drive to see them though.

Grandma Bame

One more Angel got sent up to Heaven on the morning of April 29th.  Grandma Bame will be missed here on earth but we know she is with so many loved ones that have passed on.  I have so many great memories of her from when I was a child until the day that she died.  I am forever grateful for the past 5 years that I got to spend side by side with her.

Grandma Bame was so sweet and caring.  She wouldn't say anything to make someone sad or feel down.  She was always so positive on life and looked for the best in everything.  I hope I can become like her and always lean on her example.  The past couple of weeks I will treasure forever the time I got to spend with her.  She told me one afternoon that when she got to Heaven she will go find my children.  I know that they are being spoiled with having all my grandparents with them.  I will always miss our time together in my car going down to treatments.  I will miss her everyday but I know she is looking down on my family and keeping us safe.
Grandma We Love You So Much!!

Hello Everybody

Jordan and I had an awesome Spring Break!!  We got to go on a cruise with my parents to Mexico.  This was Jordan first cruise and he says that there are many more to come.  Who wouldn't love a week of no cooking, cleaning, school, and work.  Just pure relaxation and enjoying being together.  We left Utah on Saturday March 13th in the snow storm which put our flight almost a hour late.  Since it was taking so long to leave SLC we got to watch Blind Side on the plane.  After a very long hour and half of digging my nails in both Jordan and my mom arms we finally landed in LAX.  Sunday morning came and we got to go to our new home for the week.  First things first when we got on we headed straight to the Ledo Deck for FOOD!!  Here is a picture of us on my parents balcony in Long Beach.
The first two days on the ship were sea days.  We enjoyed being lazy and playing some card games.  Jordan and I creamed my parents in Canasta so they had to buy us stuff in ports.  The second night we had a formal night.  It was fun getting all dressed up and taking tons of pictures.
Jordan was such a stud in his suit.  We loved it how everyone asked if we were brother and sister. (as we stood there holding hands)  That night at dinner the servers danced for us but we forgot our camera.  But from then on we took it with us.
Our first stop was in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.  We got there around 7 in the morning and left around 10 at night.  When we first got there they had 2 other ships in port.  It's amazing how they can control the ships to swing them around and get in a very tight place without hitting anything.
This picture we took while backing into port.  It's kinda looking the same way as down town were we spent most of our time.  We grabbed a taxi and put our life's in danger by their way of driving.  We walked around down town to the different shops and then headed back to the ship.  It was pretty funny because we were there on St. Patrick's day and you could tell who the Americans were since we were all wearing green.
This was taken right when we got off the ship.  Poor Jordan forgot sunglasses but since we won in cards my parents bought him a pair.  Good thing we know our games.
This picture was while we were down town.  It was such beautiful weather but after walking around it got really hot really fast.  While walking down by the beach they had so many sand figurine's being made.  It was so interesting looking at them and also seeing some of them being made.  P.S. notice Jordan nice shades also our sweet St. Patrick day shirts.
The next day we were in Mazatlan, Mexico.  We were the only cruise ship at this port so it wasn't that busy.  We took a open taxi to the Golden Zone shopping area.  We mostly spent our time on the beach walking around.
Once again the weather was so amazing.  I love playing in the ocean but the water was a little cold.  Jordan wore his Nike's and they got a nice wash when the water came up higher and he couldn't run away.  He got a new pair of flip flops but that meant I could get a kissing picture in the water.
Oh how cute!!
This was one of the hotels right on the beach.  I wanted a picture at each port saying where we were.
Our last stop was at the beautiful Cabo San Lucas.  This has always been a favorite to bad your only there for a couple of hours.  The water is to shallow for the ships to dock close so you get to take the little shuttles to the land.
Here was our ship the Splender.  Our rooms were in the very back of the ship which was awesome so you could see were you have been.
Here are our new friends that we made in Cabo.  The ship left there about 4 in the afternoon then we had our second formal night.  Here is another picture of us all dressed up.

After leaving Cabo we had a "Fun Day" at sea.  Then it was back to Long Beach which was really sad.  The next few pictures are some of our new family members.  Kinda sad because they wouldn't let us take them..

We want to thank my parents for a great week and we can't wait for our next trip.
